To go with my Haeckel Waistcoat for the Wye Waltz 2012.
Here are the dimensions for next time:
A few more mm of width would be a good idea. It doesn't quite close tidily with the pen in place.
Assembly really is mostly a matter of cutting out rectangles and sewing them together in the obvious sequence. I made the sewing of the lining and the turned-over edges easier by glueing the bits together before sewing them, with a thin line of PVA (generic white glue).
This leather is thin enough to sew happily on a regular domestic machine with a regular needle. It's actually easier to handle than cloth. It's pigskin from Le Prevo, the most helpful leather shop I've ever found.
