A scarab brooch for Rachel, for steampunk purposes. 60mm long, more or less.
Cut from 0.9mm engraving brass (CZ120), using a 60 degree single-flute engraving cutter at 8000 rpm, 200 mm/min. Cut depths are 0.15mm and 0.4mm.
Bolts are M2 steel high-head, from Polly Engineering
Hold-down was just double-sided tape onto a scrap of acrylic.
Parts sawn out with a jeweller's saw & edges filed clean. After that they were domed with a shiny ball-peen hammer into a rubber block (actually an ice-hockey puck).
