Dollies for 2x 400x300 Eurocrates (or 1x 600x400). You can buy these, used on eBay, for £20-25 or so, but I needed lower-profile ones to fit crates under my desk.
I used 18mm OSB, cut to 600x400 by cutmy.co.uk. £30 for 4 pieces.
Castors were 50mm grey rubber (50GD4GRG) from castors-online.co.uk. £60 for 16 castors.
Screws were 5.5mmx16 button-head self-tappers (WF26966) from http://www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk/. £13 for 150. I used around 100.
Oh, and the upper screws, which are there to locate the crates, had M6 square spring washers (WF27) for a bit more height.
Cost came to about the same as buying the used ones. I could have used worse castors, used thinner OSB, and cut up an OSB sheet myself to make the things cheaper.
I marked them up in a laser cutter, then drilled them by hand.
